Facts on Gallbladder Disorder and how to take care of it.

Gallbladder

Abnormal concentration of bile acids, cholesterol, and phospholipids in the bile can cause the formation of gallstones. Gallstone e can range from the size of a tiny grain of sand to larger than a pea-sized mass.

The presence of stone in the gallbladder can cause inflammation. This can cause severe pain in the upper right abdomen and/or across the chest, possibly accompanied by fever, nausea, vomiting. Other symptoms also include constant pain below the breastbone that shoots into the right or left shoulder area and radiates into the back. The pain can last from thirty minutes to several hours. A gallbladder attack can mimic a heart attack, with severe pain in the chest area. Gallbladder attacks occur often at night and can take place sporadically.

If the stone is pushed out of the gallbladder and lodges in the bile duct,
this can cause nausea, vomiting, and pain in the upper right abdominal region. These symptoms arise after the person has eaten fried or fatty foods. If you have gallstones or are prone to developing them, turmeric can reduce your risk for further problems. If you have an attack, drink one tablespoon of apple cider in a glass of apple juice. This should relieve the pain quickly. If it does not, go to the Emergency Room to rule out disorder such as heart problems or GERD (gastro esophageal reflux disease).

For inflammation of the gallbladder, do not eat solid food for a few days. Drink only distilled water or spring water and drink juices such as pear, beet, and apple for three days. Then add solid foods; shredded raw beets with 2 tbsp. of olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and freshly made uncooked apple juice in a blender. Apple juice aids in softening the gallstones.

For stones in the gallbladder, take 3 tbsp. of olive oil with the juice of a lemon at bedtime and upon awakening. Stones are often passed and eliminated in the stool with this technique. You can also use grapefruit juice. To relieve the pain you can use hot Castor oil packs on the gallbladder area. Place Castor oil in a pan and heat but don't boil. Dip a piece of white cotton material and saturate it with hot oil and apply to affected area and cover with plastic to prolong the heat.

Avoid sugar and products containing sugar; People who consumed excessive amount if sugar is more likely to form gallstones. Avoid animal fats and meat, saturated fats (found primarily in meat), full-fat dairy products, fried foods, spicy foods, margarine, soft drinks, commercial oils, chocolates and refined carbohydrates. Include in your diet 75 % raw foods, applesauce, eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, broiled fish, fresh apples and beets.

Rapid weight changes can cause gallbladder problems. A study published showed yo-yo dieting- that is repeatedly losing and gaining weight due to dieting-increases the risk of gallstones. Gallstones run in families. Women are twice more likely to develop gallstones than men. Do not overeat.

Obesity and gallbladder disease are related. Females age forty and over who are overweight and who have had children are more likely to suffer from gallbladder disorders.

The recommended treatment for gallstone is the removal of the gallbladder, however, if the X-ray showed stones and no symptoms, there's no need for surgery. Sometimes stones in the gallbladder can be fragmented or dissolve without surgery, using the drug, deoxycholic acid or lithotripsy (the use of sound waves to break up stones). Bile
Acid preparations used to dissolve stones work very slowly and can be used only on small stones.
